A Square Dance Publication for Student Moose Promenaders

Here Comes Graduation!

Remember last summer when you arrived at Moose Promenaders and you didn't know an allemande left from a do-si-do? Remember hearing that lessons would last from September through April and that sounded like a long time? Remember that day that you thought was so far off? Well….. ta-dah!…it is finally upon us! The time has come for graduation preparation. Just a few more lessons and …graduation!

Our official graduation night has been scheduled for April 24th at 7p.m. Come wearing some nice square dance duds since we will be taking a lot of pictures including a "formal" class picture. This means dresses or skirts and blouses for ladies and long sleeved shirts for men. Hopefully, by now you have come across some outfits through sales and "hand-me- downs" that appeal to you.

If not, see your student coordinators for suggestions. (Don't worry about crinolines or ties if you don't have any, but do remember pettiepants or short-shorts under skirts and dresses.)

It will be a great evening full of laughter and surprises! Bring your sense of humor and your camera if you like. It is a grand night. Our beloved caller sees to that. Thank you, Bill Chesnut!

Looking Back!

Bravo, to our Student Moose Promenaders! This has been an auspicious year! Yes, "auspicious"! Let's take a quick look back:

In September, a total of 46 individuals registered with the Moose Promenaders during the free lessons. Most hung around for six sessions or so. But 25 brave souls pushed on, conquering perilous territory do-si-dos, grand squares, stars, and squaring through among other. These 25 sterling characters now comprise one of the largest graduating classes this year  - and the largest in the past several years!

In December, at the Freshman Hoedown, with a turnout of fourteen dancers, our students put nearly two squares on the floor. Two out of ten squares were Moose Promenaders. Not bad!

In February, our determined dancers pulled off the first student led banner retrieval in NEFSARDA history (to the best of anyone's current knowledge). Extremely excited veterans and daring students made an unprecedented raid and brought home the banner!

Yes, this has been an auspicious year!

Mark your calendars:
